The Battle of the Blots – DIY Spot and Stain Removal Acts

All of us have been there. A glass of wine that is balancing precariously before crashing on the carpet. Maybe it was a sauce from the pasta plate that slipped off. Carpet Cleaning our site North Shore are a great option, but sometimes we want to do some DIY. Are you ready to put on your cleaning capes? We’ll dive right into this treasure trove and take on those stubborn stains!

1. Club Soda, the Unsung Hero

What to do if you spilled wine or beer? Club soda is the best way to fix a spilled beer or wine.

Technique: Use a towel to blot the affected area. Mix it with some white vinegar, and spray it on the area if it does not work. Allow it to sit for about 15 minutes and then wipe away.

2. It’s not just for plates!

Dishwashing liquid is the perfect solution for grease stains.

Method: Combine a few drops of liquid dishwashing with some warm water. Spray on the stain or dab it. The grease will lift if you blot the stain.

3. Shaving cream: Fluffy Savior

Shaving cream can be a great solution for general stains.

Technique: Use shaving cream to cover the stain directly and allow it to sit on the stain for 30 minutes. Remove the stain with a clean white cloth.

4. Freeze Gum

You’ve brought gum indoors after stepping on it. You need not worry!

Grab a few ice cubes from the freezer. The gum should be frozen for 30 seconds. Lift the gum with a wooden spoon once it has solidified.

5. How to Deep Clean Your Home with Vinegar and Baking Soda

These kitchen essentials will give you a deep, refreshing cleaning.

Technique: Sprinkle baking powder over carpets and allow it to sit for several hours. Spray a solution of vinegar and water in equal amounts. After it has stopped fizzing away, remove the rag and allow to dry.

6. Iron Out Wax

Candle wax that drips can be a real nightmare.

Technique: Lay a clean cloth on top of the wax. The wax will melt when you press a hot iron on the cloth. You can easily remove the wax.
